The City of Bellflower Partners with ICC Networking (ICCN) and Connect Direct Online to Offer No Cost, Citywide Internet Connectivity

The City of Bellflower is proud to announce Bellflower Connect, an expansive framework of specialized wired and wireless technologies. Once fully installed, will provide free internet connectivity for Bellflower residents, businesses and visitors. City staff and ICC Networking are actively working to complete this new smart initiative through the use of outdoor access points positioned throughout the city. These will provide high speed wireless access for all smart devices and laptops within the city boundaries. The installation process will happen in four (4) phases over the span of 18-24 months. Phase 1 launched with the installation of the first wireless solar tower in Downtown Bellflower. The network will soon cover the surrounding neighborhoods.

The City also plans to offer free in-home, broadband access modems to eligible households in Bellflower. These modems will amplify the outdoor wireless signal from the network into a home – giving eligible households a free, high-speed internet connection at no additional cost.

Bellflower Connect will allow residents and businesses to stay up-to-date on news, keep in touch with family and friends, and have fun surfing the web,” said Mayor Sonny R. Santa Ines.“ Many families will have an opportunity to save a little on their household monthly expenses by using the City’s secured network at no cost.

This program is made possible with funding from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. For more information on Bellflower Connect or to apply for an in-home unit, visit www.bellflower.org/connect.
